Don't need to be conservative to know- if man isn't evil in nature why need state laws? Houses will safe without even having doors and no security systems are needed for banks! Teachers and parents would have heavenly kids without grey hairs or no hair to pull out. Drugs will be legal and sex will have no diseases attached to it. Everything will have no negative results. Everything and everyone will be fine and happy..because there's no evil in man.

Because they need an excuse to accept their own dogma.

Most Christians believe this: it is part of the Bible. Honestly though left to their own devices people are at best selfish. It takes a lot of work to make children consider other people's feelings.

(Some) Conservative Christians think that in order to worship properly everything has to be dramatic and soul-wrenching. Poppycock! Bullpucky! The truth is that man, while not evil, certainly seems hell-bent on destruction of some kind. It doesn't mean we have to wear a furrowed brow and pray until we sweat blood. There was a man called Christ who did that for us and forgave what we, ourselves, could not. We are free to move about the cabin freely because of him.......happiness included!

Because it is true, but I wouldn't call it evil. I would call it corrupt. Look at a baby, everything is about what it wants. As it gets older one of the first things a kid learns is how to lie. The next 18 years is spent by the parents teaching the child how to behave in public and how to treat others. We are amazed and call people heroes and give out awards on the rare occasion when someone does not think of themselves first and helps people. On the other hand we are also amazed and turn serial killers and murderers into cultural icons. If a person is bold enough to actually call another person evil based on the other person's actions, then we protect the evil person by ridiculing the person who called them that. We will drag that person over the coals for calling someone else evil, because we don't want to hurt the evil person's feelings. We protect evil over honesty in that situation. A young woman can become an over night super star because a scummy one night stand is recorded and released on video. Then every little girl across the nation aspires to be like her and look like her. Every news report for years has a story on her. We over sexualize our little girls by manufacturing and selling designer thongs for 6 year olds. Little 11 year old girls wear tops that show their bellies and shorts that aren't much longer than their panties that have "sexy" printed across the butt. The most popular form of music with teenage boys is based on beating woman after you have used them up, killing policemen, and glorifying drive by shootings. Millions of babies are killed yearly out of convenience but a farmer has to go work at Walmart to support his family since he can't work his farm due to a rare endangered butterfly that lives there. A person stands up for family values and just being a good person and they are attacked, their careers are destroyed, their back ground is checked looking for anything to discredit them and their families are publicly humiliated. Then a Hollywood couple has a baby as a result of adultery and fornication and not enough praise can be heaped upon this wonderful and beautiful event. I think those are enough examples of how mankind is corrupt by nature.

They can tell every time they look in a mirror

Beware belief systems that make simply being human evil. They have no clue of the divine.

Because like any other snake oil salesman, they've got the cure for it.

I believe mankind is evil in his nature because Scripture makes that clear. Of course if you don't believe the Bible then what I say is meaningless.

It isn't(for me) that man is evil, it is that we are all have sin, the capability to and predisposition to commit sins. Some can control it better than others. Most people strive to be better so evil? no
