Poipu Beach, Kauai, Hawaii Below is a picture of the specific condo I'd like to live in, too. It's called Kuhio Shores. I lived there for a spring and summer, top floor, corner unit, in some other life that bears no resemblance to the one I'm living now, LOL.

Melbourne, Oz. Always something happening here, is home to some of the world's finest chocolate makers, has more restaurants from more different countries than anywhere I've been, great public transport, beautiful parks, fantastic galleries, major sporting events every other month, super beaches and great beer. Some very nice people too ;-)
-
San Francisco, CA. Great weather, breathtaking scenery. There's a beach with pretty good surf (I'd have to work up to the challenge of the cold and the currents, though). Culture galore, restaurants galore. Good public transportation. I can't think of what it would be missing. However, if I'm stuck there, someone ELSE is paying my rent...;-P.....

California. I was there recently and I loved it. It felt like home.

I just moved from California to New York and I do love it here by our pond and woods. But for the rest of my life? I'd love to live even wilder and quieter, away from everyone. I'd lover to live on Vancouver Island, maybe on a small island in the sound between it and the mainland. Or in the Yukon by a river out in the wilds in a log home. But for now, I'm very happy in our log home in NY:-)

Florence, Italy. I think I have the personality that would fit in perfectly there, and it was an enormously fun city when I was there. Admittedly I was there for three days, so probably a dumb idea to say I'd live there forever. My safety choice would be South Florida.
-
