  • Just getting a marriage license does not make you married. First you get the license, then you get married. After your ceremony, both spouses, your witnesses and the Officient will sign the marriage license. The Officient will then file for a certified copy of the marriage license and a marriage certificate. If you did all that but just haven't got a certified copy of the certificate yet, you are still legally married. You just need to wait for the certified copy to come in the mail.
  • You are legally married, you just need to go down to your courthouse and get the appropraite copy for your insurance company. There are 3 different types of marriage certificate - involving the number of seals and how much they cost to get. Find out what sort your insurance wants before you go, then go to the office for marriage cerificates and request a copy.
  • there is a very easy solution to that. Just apply to the recorder for a certified copy (the certificate).
  • Well, you're married according to me, and congratulation!
  • you are married when everyone signs the liscence and it is sent in... the certificate is just proof of marriage
