Have you ever lied when you said you have read a book, when in fact you have not? Apparently, George Orwell's 1984 is a very common book people lied about reading. What's yours?

only when i was in high school and forced to read boring swill. i would get the cliff notes or ask a friend to fill me in on the storyline so i could complete the assignment. i recall there was this one book about the founding fathers writing the declaration of independence that was just as dry as burnt toast, but i really cant remember the title. other than the torturous school assignments, i have not claimed to read something i havent. ive always been an avid reader ~ if something interested me i read it. 1984 was a very good book by the way.

The Red Badge of Courage. I checked it out once, but never got around to actually reading it. The librarian was so impressed, I didn't have the heart to tell her the truth.
