Sin is an irrelevant concept since there is no "divine" to sin against.

The truth is that sin (as defined in the original translations of the Bible) means "to miss the mark." This was an Archery Term meaning to miss your target, to miss the bullseye or the mark. The mark, in this case, is the standard of perfection established by God and evidenced by Jesus. Viewed in that light, it is clear that we are all sinners. The Apostle Paul says in Romans 3:23: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." But there is hope "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives" (1 John 1:8-10).

Sin, in my estimation, is "Selfishness plus Accountability."

what is not good. everybody has the law of God written on their heart (like it or not) do you want people to freely take from you? of course not, you'd rather someone freely give to you! there fore stealing is bad and giving is good. and everybody knows it. you can apply this to anything really? you don't want people to lie to you or hurt you. thats why Jesus suumed over half the commandments with 'love thy neigbor as thy self' Now for the contraversial one; would you want some one to have aborted you?

About everything you do more or less, your thoughts included.

I think that 'bible' thing has a fair old description in there. It also has a few hundred stories of that 'god' chap breaking the rules.
-
Doing something which hurts others or which makes you not realize your oneness with God... but not in the sense of breaking a rule resulting in judgment by a urinated-off god. It's "missing the mark" - forgetting your true nature as a beloved child of God and your siblinghood with all people.

here's another, you'll like this cause it involves killing babies. Your in a pit...your hiding with a bunch of other people and your baby from the enemy. the enemy is coming, and your baby baby begins to cry. your crying baby will give you away, and you and all the other people will die(including your baby) but you can silence the baby by smuthereing it. what do you do? I, a pro-lifer, would kill the baby. for the sake of everyone else, i would sacrifice my only child. Now how would God view this? you were not thinking 'im going to kill this baby because i like killen babies' no the thought behind the action, what was in the heart was 'i love my baby and these people, if my baby's going to die it might as well be at my hand, and it is a sacrifice to save everyone else.' this also is an unselfish act simuler to what God Himself did by allowing His only son to die for the sake of humanity.

Well, it's not in my estimation but in God's estimation. Sin is described in the Bible as rebellion against God. People are born with a sinful nature due to the fact we are all directly descended from Adam. There are individual sin's like murder, lying, stealing, lusting etc, but sin is broader than that. So, this is why getting an answer from an atheist is pointless, becasue they still live in the grip of sin. Jesus came to set us free from it.
