  • I would presume it meant: have the authorities been called in to moderate in a dispute....but I could be wrong. :-)
  • You get points for saying that things, using the toolbar that you can pull down, are offensive, spam, or controversial and getting points for them if the admin. of answerbag agrees that it is innapropriate for this site.
  • No it has nohing to do with fisticuffs, If you see a duplicate question or a question in the wrong category you can flag the question and earn moderation points.
  • it's a point reward for "working" for Answerbag
  • Answerbag is a user moderated site, members can get points by using and contributing to the moderation system. For instance, you can earn merit points for your contributions to the Answerbag Blog, or by flagging certain Q's and A's for review by AB staff. Though I think I may be wrong about the blog... I don't think you get ratings or mod points for that.
  • If you think a question is in the wrong category, a duplicate of another question, nonsense, spam, or offensive, you can flag it. This is done by using the dropdown menu under the question. You can also do this for answers. Answers can be flagged as nonsense, spam, or offensive. You earn five points if your flag is accepted. The points you recieve for doing this are called "moderation points."
  • It is where you indicate an answer or question is duplicate, spam/offensive etc. You get 5 points a piece for a successful moderation
  • Please check for duplicate questions before you post: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/145260
  • Moderation occurs when you flag someones answer/question as duplicate/wrong catagory etc. If admin agree you get 5 points.
  • It counts when you flag a user's answer or question, in the dropdown menu that says "Flag This Question".
  • Moderation is when you help clean up the site, full of offensive comments, spam, duplicate questions, wrong catergories and nonsense. When you see someone post a question in the wrong catergory for example, look at the right of the question and where it says Flag this Question, click on it and choose "wrong catergory" and try to catergorize it correctly. It the answernag admin, sees that you were correct, they will give you +5 points for your moderation .
  • It will go up if you start moderating the site, and looking for duplicate questions, or questions posted in the wrong category, like this one. It belongs in Answerbag category under Moderation. This is a freebie;) Welcome to the site, and good luck;)
  • If you flag a question you will get 5 points if AB agrees. That is what your moderation means.
  • The points you get from flagging a question or answer.
  • When you flag something (offensive, nonsense, etc) and the admin(s) agree with you and mark that question/answer that you flagged, you get like 5 points. Or used to, I don't know.
  • you'll notice the "flag this question" or "flag this answer" drop-downs for each Q/A. When your flag is approved, you will earn 5 moderation points. If it is not accepted, you don't earn any points. I have attempted to moderate 1051 Q/A's and 91% have been accepted.
  • If there are no numbers, you evidently haven't gotten any points for it. You have to flag questions for that. You get 5 points if the AB Staff agrees with you.
  • It means that you either haven't flagged any questions or answers, or they haven't reviewed them yet.
  • Answerbag is a community-moderated site. Members may moderate questions and answers... Questions that may be flagged are duplicate, nonsense, spam/offensive, and you my recommend a new category. Answers may be flagged as nonsense and spam/offensive. You get five (5) points for each successful flag. (NOTE: For it to be successful, staff moderators must accept your flag. If your flag is rejected, you will get an email, 10 points subtracted from your moderation total (I believe), and it will change your percentage. (The points subtracted don't count against your "level-up" points, I believe.) SUBS (Submissions) shows the number of questions/answers you have flagged. PTS (Points) shows the total number of points you have earned from moderating. % (Percentage) is Total number of flags you've made - (Total number of flags you've made MINUS total number of flags not accepted - rejected or not yet reviewed) / Total number of flags you've made. ((Total - unaccepted) / Total). Note that %-age includes those you've flagged that have not been reviewed, yet, so it will vary. Above 92% or so is normal.)
  • When you flag a question that is considered Moderation.
  • AB allows, actually encourages, all users to moderate questions and answers. Below the ratings for each is a small drop-down menu. For questions, if they are spam/offensive, nonsense, duplicates, or in the wrong category, you may flag them. For answers, only spam/offensive and nonsense ("I don't know") may be flagged. Each flag a user on AB does must be accepted by staff moderators. Be sure you know what you're doing, as I have heard there's a penalty (or there may be one in the works) for moderating incorrectly. (This is also so that those who maliciously moderate, flagging all they can for no reason other than an attempt at the moderation points, will not only not get anything, but will go backwards, if I'm correct.) See http://www.orangefrogproductions.com/ofp2m_faq_ab_moderationguide.shtml for a LOT more information.
  • You should find some useful information here: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/145260
  • See http://www.orangefrogproductions.com/ofp2m_faq_ab_moderationguide.shtml for more about moderation. When you submit flags for moderation, those are your SUBS. When the admins accept them (if they do), you get 5 points per accepted flag, and that is your PTS. Your +%, would be the number of flags you have submitted that have been accepted. Therefore, your % goes down (early on) when you submit a lot of questions, and then when the Admins accept them and you make points, it will go back up. ONLY when you have NO submissions in the queue will you know your true +%.
