  • Yes. In fact, a wasp got in through my open balcony screen door, so I opened it some more, and it eventually flew out. It was the least I could do since I was the one who invited it in.
  • I do too! I think I have only ever killed one mosquito (possibly two). It took me so long to pluck up the courage before I squashed it with a book. I can't bare to kill bugs!
  • I try not to take any living life .... BUT; sometimes it is necessary .. and then I feel bad for awhile .
  • It was very considerate that the bee "got into (your) my daughter's room with bug spray"!! You shouldn't feel bad at all, as he must have had a 'death wish' as he carried his own insecticide!!!!
  • I feel bad even for bugs (except flies and mosquitoes). Couldn't you have just scooped it up in a jar or something and taken it outside?
  • Absolutely -- every once in a while I also get stuck in a situation and have to kill a bug --- but I hate it. I live in Africa and one time a massive spider (about the size of my hand) kept trying to come into the house(literally in the door!). I eventually picked it up on a long pole but it started walking down the pole at me. I flipped the pole to send him flying over the fence, but I forgot about the electic fence and I sent him right onto the electric fence and electrocuted him. Snap snap snap he went for hours --- I feel bad to this day about that. Don't dispair --- it happens to some of us --- but sometimes you have no choice.
  • I think we tend to "humanize" them and feel sorry for them too much. Even though some are beneficial ... they are just insects.
  • You know it is true that I can't even kill a fly. I open the door and try and push them out when bugs get in.
  • I feel bad every time! And I didn't exactly have any type of religious or philosophical upbringing that encouraged it. But I believe it's good practice: we should ALWAYS think twice in weighing our needs on this earth against those of its fellow inhabitants. There's so much waste in consumption & resources as it is. I usually catch the bug & stick it outside. AFTER my cat's been allowed to play with it awhile, of course.
  • I feel a bit like you... i kill it as it needs to be killed in a way... yet then i regret a little deep down.... i would be more inclined to kill them if i thought about it... hope i dont sound to brutal!
  • yes i feel bad too i try my best not to kill them but sometimes you have no choice.
  • Nope! If it did not die right away why did you not squish it? That would have ended quicker than watching it die. LOL
