Sorry, this probably isn't in the range of answers you wanna hear, but the whole notion that Adam's original sin "stained" mankind is utter silliness designed to control people. By telling you that you're fundamentally broken, the church gets to sell you it's solution. It's a technique that is as old as sales itself -- "sell the problem, and the solution sells itself".

Before Adam and Eve were sinless. They were perfect and lived in a perfect world. They had no impure faults at all. Everything they needed was there provided for them. There was no need for anger, jealousy,greed, or pride. Those are the 4 main things that cause sin. After they disobeyed God the world changed. They had to work for their food, they got sick, animals were dangerous. With the change in the world came the change in perspective. Greed, anger,jealousy, and pride came into the world then because the dynamic had changed. Since we live in the same world we now have those negative emotions.

Other religions have origin stories that involve leaving a better place and being stuck with the mere world as it is. I believe some of these journeys involve being in some way unworthy of remaining in what is more or less paradise. . On the one hand they sound like the ultimate in nostalgia - the good old days when we lived next door to the gods and we didn't have to work our asses off and then die. . On the other hand when Adam was lounging on the couch around all day inagaddadavida, eating the free food and having all his wants taken care of, callow and unfinished. More specifically, he was untested. . In answer to your question, I would say that Adam made us responsible. He made us men.

Sin didn't start through Adam, sin started with Satan when he rebelled against God. Adam and Eve brought sin into the world.
