  • Yes. If you are looking for a beginner guitar I have a few web sites and stores to look at. My first choice for a beginner guitar would be an Ibanez or Epiphone. I believe that Ibanez gives you more for your dollar too. Also, I must say if you are buying a first guitar consider an electric first. I have seen many budding guitarest get frustrated playing the acoustic. The electric is much easier on the fingers and the body is much smaller. Also, for a biginner, you want the most rewards with the least effort. Bottom line, go to the guitar store, Guitar Center for one, pick up the guitars and play them. Just make noise with the thing. Listen to how it sounds and feel the neck. http://www.musiciansfriend.com http://www.music123.com/Guitars.music123?source=ZWWRWXGG&o=5 Good Luck!
  • Yes, but they also sell cheap guitars in music stores. Many department and electronics stores are selling guitars from "First Act," "Fender" and "Yamaha." None of these are really all that bad. You could certainly do worse! But more importantly, I feel that it is necessary for a beginning guitar student to develop a relationship with their local music store. Over the years to come, your music store will be a great source of advice, help and support. You will not get this from Best Buy even if they were selling Ibanez or Epiphone guitars! Your local music store can show you several guitars in your price range that they would recommend and stand behind. Many stores also have a trade-up policy where they will give you all or most of what you paid for the guitar when you trade it on a better guitar later!
  • Watch Slickdeals.net. They often report decent/good acoustic guitars. http://forums.slickdeals.net/search.php?searchid=57974419
