  • I use my sleeve. Or my shirt. I hate the fact that the brainy whizzes don't think about the friggin' door.lol. Hopefully, it isn't a hot day, and I don't wipe my brow soon after.
  • well actually if people knew how to wash their hands correctly they wouldn use their hand. i remember in school learning the proper technique and we hand to turn the tap off with our elbow but that was just a tap where you push the handle down. im still not sure if that right though. everyone should be educated on how to wash their hand as it would stop the spreadin of many viruses and stuff
  • This is a no-brainer. . Pull paper towels before you start to wash your hands, then dry your hands - use the power towels as a barrier both for turning off the faucet and opening the door to exit.
  • When I am in a public restroom I sort of wash the taps while I am washing my hands making sure that what I touch is clean and then I take a paper towel, wipe my hands with it....take it with me to use on the door handle and I will then wipe my cart handle with it and discard it. I hate being sick so I do take every precaution without being a Howard Hughes about it :P I also carry a hand sanitizer in my bag and use it after touching questionable items. Especially during cold and flu season.
  • I carry Lysol and spray the tap and the door handles on the way in, which leaves it clean and dry for me when I come out as well as for everyone else using it for several minutes.
  • I carry Dettol hand foam it doesn't need water. I never need to touch the taps at all and i wait until i have left the toilets and then i wash my hands.
  • most taps turn themselves off....
  • I think their solving that problem by coming out with more and more of those sensor things that you just stick your hand under and the water comes on
  • I always add soap to the taps than wash my hands and use a towel to open the door
  • Well ... I wash my hands and like mentioned ; I use a towel to turn the tap/fawcett off and to open the door ... +5
  • Yes, thats why unless you can manage to do everything with your elbow (which is what we should all be doing anyway when it comes to taps if they are the right sort), and don't touch any hand rails or the like when you are out of the house (it isn't just public toilet doors that have nasty germs, and other people's urine), you should always carry a bottle of disinfectant alcohol hand gel if you want clean hands. They are really incredibly cheap, so it is well worth sticking one in your bag or car.
