Not that I recall. I did write a poem about people who use French for that purpose though: You are so jejuen You kill me with your ennui. If there is a coup de gras It's all the same to me. C'est la vie!

no. the only time I use any phraise is when I find it exceptionaly appropriate. speaking above people only impresses snobbery.... I am a mechanical engineer, I only care about function and if people are not impressed with my understanding of how things work then oh well. their impression does not determine my happiness

Yes it worked, and then they thought that it was cool, so they tried to learn it, and I ended up having to learn more of the language.
