  • Hi Lars. Any collar can be "inhumane" depending on the user and the strength being exerted. If I understand you correctly you are talking about the prong collars. Used correctly, placed correctly on the neck, a quick snatch and release, I have no problem with it's use. I would strongly urge anyone contemplating using one to go to a professional trainer for instruction, training classes - preferably both. You may find with the proper training, the collar would not be necessary. I do know that some trainers instruct their elderly clients on it's use. Many times the trainer will correct the dog during a class, the elderly person takes the dog from the trainer and the dog behaves perfectly - just wearing the collar is correction enough for some dogs.
