  • possibly the seals going in out out from the compressor are gone or done for. when water gets in there it stops the compressor. btw seals are on the lines that i am talking about or you could just have a compressor ready to quit on you.
  • Sounds like you have a short somewhere. They can be devilishly difficult to find.
  • If your Suburban has automatic climate control with an outside temperature sensor, it could be that water is getting into the sensor (or the electrical connector to it) and shorting it out. When this happens, the climate control computer 'sees' the outside temperature as -40 (F or C). There is no reason to cool air that's already at -40 F, so the computer shuts off the compressor.
