  • It depends on the circumstances, as to why you're leaving/or why you were asked to leave, as well as the following. I believe you had to have been employed for up to a year, however you should file with the EDD and let the system take you through their process. Employers pay into employee funds/insurance for such circumstances. They also tell the EDD wether or not they want to support the umemployement settlement (so to speak) or fight you on the grounds that you where fired for any number of reasons which will deny your claim, such as caught stealing, or embezzelment, drug us on the job etc.
  • I recently gave my notice to my job of over a year...it is about 4 hrs a day in commuting and 200.00 a week in travel expenses...I also lost over 23 lbs in the course of the past few mnths due to the stress of all the long hours and stress of getting to work each day...when I first took the position I was supposed to be able to work from home a couple days a week so this is why I took it...once there they changed everything...will I be eligible to collect?
