  • I've noticed smokers tend to drive most people away from them. I consider that helpful.
  • Some studies seem to show smokers have a lessened risk of getting Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease in later life. But you have to factor in the fact that fewer smokers live that long.
  • When I used to smoke, It helped with headaches I got that were stress related...
  • It raises the blood pressure, so if you have low blood pressure that is positive. Plus, if you ever want to be alone just light up!!
  • The nicotine seems to help keep other germs away so less colds. it helps to suppress the appetite so is used when slimming Helps to combat stress No I am not a smoker, but I wss
  • Thinning of the herd.
  • To supplement Quirkie's answer, nicotine also may improve memory and reduce the risk of getting dementia. Obviously the cons far outweigh the pros, but the truth should still be out there that every cloud of smoke has a silver lining. Sources: http://tinyurl.com/2hg73r http://tinyurl.com/yqkdcx
  • stress relief. what is the non smoker equivelent of throwing down your tools and having a fag? I've noticed smokers are less often overweight. plus they go great with beer
  • 2 that i can think of: 1. The buzz 2. The possibility of smoking shortening your life. It's a benefit because when you die, there will be no more idiots criticizing your smoking.
  • it's supposed to supress your appetite, which would be considered a bonus by most people. also, when i lived in utah, it seems to drive most mormons away quite well!
  • I'm not entirely sure of this, but I have heard that in speeds up your metabolism, making it harder to gain weight.
  • I doubt that the few possibilities quoted here are actually benefits, when you consider what are the downsides of smoking. If (and I say if) it helps with dementia, all that means is that you will have your full wits about you as you die from cancer, coronary problems, stroke, embolism or any other horrors. And as for weight gain in non smokers...there is no correlation scientifically. Nor that it helps with stress....what do we non smokers do for stress? exercise, watch tv, listen to music, go shopping, play with outr children...do housework...lots of healthy stuff...(even eating chocolate is better than smoking, don't you admit? LOL)
  • The detrimental effects of smoking outweigh any beneficial effects smoking might have. Wikipedia Link about Tobacco Smoking: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tobacco_smoking#Health_risks_of_smoking
  • Once you can't get that smell out of the clothes, You can just go and buy new ones.
  • it makes you look cool >;o}
  • As to the weight issue, while I was a smoker I gainged 200lbs. When I quit I lost all of it. As to the stress issue, when I smoked all I did was stess out over when I could smoke my next cigarette and would I have enough money to buy them. And as to the less colds issue, I had a continuous cough. So for myself, I'd have to say there was no benefit what so ever to smoking.
  • it makes me stay far away from people as i am allergic to smoke. so that is benifical to me,
