If you copy and paste the folder that you are using for this than you can just erase your current enties and save the copied format as a template. You can now use the template for the rest of your future entries. I hope thats not too confusing.

Try using conditional formatting. It lets you customize cells by their value or by using formulas.

Just check that may be during apply you make that cell absolute ..... suppose you have apply on Cell B1 then go in Condition Formatting > Manage Rule and then you can see that in that box $B$1 appearing, Just remove $ sign and now use format painter ......
