  • Theres no site that lets you download copyrighted music for free, and still be legal. You can upload almost anything into itunes, but as far as a free and legal website, thats not something that exists.
  • thank you! but i'm still a little confused...i joined bearshare, and it said it was both free and legal. Then it wouldn't let me upload my things into iTunes!
  • That doesnt exist because it would be against the law for you to be able to download copyrighted works for free. Doesnt matter what website it is.
  • I don’t know of one that lets you download the more popular music, but there are a lot of Indie places that encourage it… http://totallyfuzzy.blogspot.com/ http://hypem.com/ Are just two.
  • Amazon give out free MP3 music often.
  • Bearshare has the potential to be used legally. There is a common misconception that downloading copyrighted music is illegal. It is not. Sharing copyrighted music IS however...and most filesharing programs (bearshare included) automatically share your music by default. This option can be turned off however...so in short most p2p is illegal until you make it NOT so. The most likely reason itunes will not accept your files is because they are in the wrong format. Arguably one of the biggest disadvantages of the IPOD is that it favors .aac files (apple's audio format), while most compressed music everywhere else is in .mp3 or .wma. ...but hey, it looks cool right? Check out download.com for a mp3/wma to aac converter and put your computer to work! :)
  • I would check out BritishUnderground.com, they have a pretty good downloading section. Quasi
