Have you noticed that pasting a shortcut to a duplicate question is seldom appreciated? Perhaps duplicate questions should be flagged more often?

I have noticed that ! I guess we should just flag it and not provide the link - I had thought that it was considerate to provide the link so the asker could still get answers to their question (but I guess flagging it gives them that option also, as the link is provided by AB in that case). :)

i always try and flag it. but the link doesn't always provide the same questions, even though i know i had answered the same question by someone esle.

Yes, I saw someone (maybe it was you...) get lots of negative points for posting a link to a duplicate, and thought this was rather unfair. Personally I thought it was quite useful and gave them some helpful points as it still answers the question.
