  • He may be wanting the visitor to fight him for it or chase him. that is how dogs treat other dogs.
  • Your dog is quite the character! I would like him. Your dog is being friendly to the guest- a good thing. Your dog wants the guest's to acknowledge him by showing him one of his treasures. He just wants to be included but is also saying "this is mine, isn't it neat?"
  • My dog does exactly the same thing with her stuffed duck toy. She barks at the door and when the visitor comes in she sniffs him, dashes off and dashes back with the toy. She sort of prances around the visitor with a certain look in her eye...Look at Me! Aren't I something?...walks stiff-legged, tail wagging, watching the visitor. This is a very friendly and welcoming gesture.....not about to share the toy....just wants attention and to show that the visitor is welcome!
  • Your dog has Trump disorder. ;) He wants to brag about his possession but he doesn't want to share it.
