After playing a mentally challenged character this should be a walk in the park. Lol things where never the same for Sean Penn after I Am Sam!:)

It is the worst casting ever I despise Penn...I will not watch this movie.

He has always been a "macho dude". Yet he won the Academy Award for playing Harvey Milk, a person who was not remotely like Penn is. Anyone who can convincingly pull that off can do anything. I think it is perfect casting because he has great talent in my opinion. :)

He is a very good actor and can play any kind of role. Don't forget Spacoli on Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Never have been I real big fan of the Stooges and I don't relly follow Penn all that close but he does seem to have an amazing range and has made so-so roles look outstanding. I would go see. +5

He's a liberal nutjob, but a gifted actor. I'd like to see what he does with the role. I think he'll pull it off.

He's a good enough actor to pull it off. I have seen him play a wide range of characters and pulled them all of masterfully.
