  • For myself I would choose lethal injection..less painful. For someone else that has hurt a member of my family or someone I love it would be one of the more painful ones.
  • None of the above. The death penalty is arbitrary and capricious, racist, and classist, not to mention grossly inefficient and unworkable for a variety of very practical, empirical reasons: It does not deter crime, rather, it perniciously enhances and exacerbates the culture of violence and death through state murder. The death penalty is extraordinarily expensive, at the great loss and social expense of other much more effective and humane means of law enforcement and crime control. Plus, I just don't believe in the whole "eye for an eye" thing.
  • For me it completely depends on what the criminal is being sentenced to death for.
  • I don't agree with the death penalty so wouldn't choose any method. However, if I had to choose for myself I would choose lethal injection as I would imagine it is the least painful.
  • I myself am not in the habit of promoting any form of execution seeing that it is not my position to judge anyone, especially taking their life. For this reason I can never serve on a jury.
  • Firstly, I agree with GoodTimesNoodleSalad on the subject of the death penalty. However, if I had to choose it would be firing squad, assuming it was a good firing squad. Hanging is far too painful and the other three all have their problems and are so clinical - I really hate the idea of a legalized, sanitised death. Just shoot me.
  • I don't agree with either way if it leads to death ... But if I had to choose ... I would take the ... firing squad ... I want to die like a man ... standing up! on my feet with my boots on ... as the Duke would ...
  • For me, I'd choose firing squad. One decent shot to the head and it's all over. No point wasting money on chemicals for the lethal injection.
  • For myself I would have to say firing squad. I have heard that lethal injection is not as quick and painless as people think.
  • Firing squad. i want a brutal painful death. i consider that going out honerably.
  • Because my wife keeps asking me the same question----When am I going to start showing my feelings. Any of the above please.
  • I whole-heartily agree with the death penalty and believe it is ineffective because the legal system draws the process out. There needs to be standards around it so as to protect the defendant, but we need to carry out the penalty as soon as we can. There are special courts to address specific issues (tax court, juvenile courts) why not a DP court that is dedicated to reviewing DP cases? Then, if the process worked and the guilt is proven, execute the person. And I don't care how. Dead is dead. Don't torture them just remove the ability of ever re-entering society or influencing anyone ever again. (I say this because life in prison tends to mean the person sets up crime shop in prison. If you remove the person forever, then maybe prisons can be used for reform and rehabilitation.
  • None of the above. I do not believe in the death penalty.
  • people think that it is the only way to warn people not to do bad deeds
  • I guess lethal injection. It puts you to sleep first and then you never wake up.
  • Why? To kill the person, I would presume. As to which I would choose, probably the gas chamber, assuming I could choose the gas.
  • Why not? If not, you would not be safe in your home.
  • I've heard down sides of all of these things. Like for example I heard you lose control of your bowels when you get the electric chair. Lethal injection I've heard that they don't actually put you to sleep first they just pump you full of muscle relaxants so you can't scream with pain. I'd have to say firing squad, seems to be the most unique in aspects to this day and age.
  • If I could choose the way I wanted to be executed, then I would want to be shackled in front of and advancing pyroclastic flow (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyroclastic_flow http://www.metacafe.com/watch/119241/big_in_japan/).
  • If it's me, lethal injection. If it's some heinous creature, then something that takes a long long time, like the Chinese death by a thousand cuts.
  • None of the above. Give them to the victim, or the victim's family and let them decide what should be done, after all, he should become the victim and see how that is for a change.
