i really like Nokia phones. they're very sturdy and i just like all the features on them. Nokia phones have served me well! :D

I would say the iPhone, though I don't have one. If it ever comes to Verizon you can bet your butt i'm going to try to get one!

It's an unanswerable question, b/c... 1. The technology changes every 5 minutes as new models become available; 2. Every user has different criteria as to what qualities and features are "best".

The iPhone is technically very capable. Unfortunately commercial decisions stamped on it and locked it down to some particular operators, particular software vendors etc. So I can't really recommend it. It's like a car that can only be filled up at certain gas stations which sell particularly expensive fuel. Nokias are generally good - they always have been.

I like my phone - it is a Nokia - it has big buttons and not many features - but that is all I need - I just want a phone, not a personal organiser/camera/route planner/ photo album/ communication device
