  • You can put a price on air superiority. But it should probably be a pretty high one. Planes are much like cars: the cost of a new one is high, but the cost of maintaining an old one can be quite high as well.
  • The average air frame of aircraft like the F-15 and 16 is increasing...Why not keep up with the times, I mean. Not fall behind in technology. If you buy more F-22's the price should go down though; You'd have to maintain all of those then. Those will come in handy, when fending off other nations 5th generation planes, and if or when, there is a campagin against an enemies air defense network.
  • Trust me, if we don't. someone else will.
  • I won't say it was a waste of money, the technology was worth it for the bombers. but the fighters have never engaged the enemy in combat, and the F-18 has never been defeated in air combat. so (using the car analogy) it is like owning a Mercedes, and going out and buying a BMW also.
