  • My research indicates that this model does NOT have a transmission dipstick. Instead, there is a fill plug on the side of the transmission. Fluid level is checked by removing the fill plug and checking how close the fluid level is to the bottom of the plug. If you still have your owner's manual, it will probably verify this information. Good luck. From the 1983 movie "Blue Thunder" Icelan: He checks his sanity with a wrist watch! Jack Braddock: What do you check yours with, a dipstick?
  • You have to check the fluid level with the engine running still. If you remove the plug with the engine off it will spill all over the place. The plug itself is located on the p/s of the trans near the axle. I check these tranny's by removing the plug and filling the trans untill it pours out. Wait till it stops pouring out and install the plug.
  • i thoght the sip stick at the front is for the tranns cause it runs down to the tranns ....and it has the tranns fill on the driver side and its red ...so is the yellow dip stick for the oil or tranns
