I got the job he didnt. He was really immature about it but after a few weeks he had forgiven me, so in the long run it really doesnt effect it much

Yes. I got it and she didn't. There is no longer a friendship and that was her choice. It's a shame that it ended the way it did. I would have expected better from a true friend, but that's just me.

Yes. My friend had contacts in our HQ office that were promoting her as a new general manager, for our location. She kept saying how she didn't ever want the position and how I would be great at it. I got the job offer, not her. I took it, after talking it over with her first, and then later on she became one of my BIGGEST pains in the butt. I'm no longer with the company (now retired)but the friendship was over long before.

Yes yes yes yes yes!! I was best friends with my now ex best friend for 13yrs. We worked close together and when a job opportunity came up as a Deputy Manager I seriously never thought id be offered it so I never applied for it. My friend thought shed be offered it so when she wasnt and I was things just spirilled out of control, she became impossible to work with, rude, ignorant, snotty and arrogant and her attitude with everyone including the children (we worked together at a Nursery School) everything just stank!....to cut a long story short she turned on me & then tried her hardest to turn the other staff against me so I asked her to come into the office one day and asked her what the problem was where at this point she turned on me with serious anger, swearing and shouting loudly (keeping in mind this is a nursery school and the time of day was when the parents where dropping there children off) that I was the problem and I had changed so I asked her if it had anything to do with the job promotion and she went on again screaming, swearing and saying I was full of myself. After that day I forgot about our friendship and focused on my own life and havent looked back every since its been a just over a year and she left soon after that 'what I call damn horrible day' blaming me for the reason why she never came back! She then turned her life into a personal vendetta towards me and then tried to persuade the other staff at the school to try there damned hardest to make my life hell and to get me sacked!!! It didnt work and as much as I see her out and about I could never forgive her, she just has a smug look on her face everytime I see her, my job promotion caused one hell of a friendship break-up but I suppose it showed just how she felt about our friendship! A promotion was obviously more important to her. I did consider handing in my notice but then thought why the hell should I! Anyway Yes it affected a friendship of 13yrs but it opened my eyes to what sort of a friendship it was.
