  • Big RC guy here. If your speed controller is'nt up to the increase in voltage, you'll fry it. You can always add capacitance to a system, the down side is weight. However, voltage is a whole different story. One constant in any electric drive is the speed controller and the max voltage it can handle. Another dependant variable is the motor itself. It is rated for a maximum voltage it can handle. The gearbox is design for only so much torque as well. Many times an RC(air, ground, or water) wont be up to upgrades. Before you upgrade, look at your manual, contact the local shop or contact the manufacturer so you can determine if the ugrade will work. Good Luck! If you give me all the info on your RC, i may be able to get you a more specific answewr.
  • it depends on what brand of AEG. if it is a high end aeg's like Marui,CA, ICS, G&P, G&G etc,. then there is no problem. even china made AEG is already 11.1v LIPOLY Battery ready. the motor and gearbox can handle that kind of voltage.
