Ask a question about S-10 Where is the fuel pressure regulator located on a 1999 Chevy S-10 pickup, and how do I change it? It is a 4-cyl. automatic.

    Relieve fuel system pressure.

    Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    Remove the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.
    Remove the fuel pressure regulator attaching screw (1).
    Important: If the fuel pressure regulator is to be reinstalled, inspect filter screen for contamination. If contaminated, remove and discard.


    Remove the fuel pressure regulator assembly (2) and O-ring (3) (discard O-ring).

    located at the end of the fuel rail on the engine.
    in case you don't know the fuel rail is the tube that connects all your injectors.
    one end will have a line coming directly from the tank to the rail the other end will have the regulator and then a line back to the tank.
