  • I do not care about a president's sex life or religious preference as long as he puts the hard working American people first and not the deserting immigrants from other countries. America needs to take care of the American people and say the hell with all the immigrants that are running here deserting their homeland. Traitors all of them.
  • No and No
  • yes I would. His religion means nothing to me. What can he do for this Country is what matters
  • I don't vote because of religion. Politics and religion should be separate. There is a reason why Evangelists do not win in politics. Yes, I will vote for the best man for the job, atheist or religious, because I am tired of voting for the lesser evil.
  • I don't think there has been. And sure. Religion ranks slightly above "ability to say the alphabet backwards" in terms of things that matter to me for choosing a president.
  • I do not know of any avowed atheist who served as President of the USA. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe were all deists.
  • Most of the respondents got this question correct. The early presidents were deists with no particular religion although they attended churches of various denominations. Unfortunately it didn't take long for candidates to use religion as a reason to be elected. I vote for a candidate despite his religion, not because of it. Really religious people like Huckabee lose big time because most Americans don't want a preacher in office. The result of offically mixing religion and government is too frightening. I would favor an atheist as a candidate because he would have to be an honest man. I suspect many presidents were atheists but were afraid to admit it. Otherwise, how could people with obviously low moral standards like Reagen and Clinton, and Bush senior have won?
