  • no because as humans we are bound to be judgemental
  • That sounds like a state of perfection. It would be a wonderful world if everyone strived to attain this state but seriously i think it is very unlikely to be attained.
  • I don’t think what you have suggested is humanly possible. ----- Love and hate all have a purpose; you would have to repress your emotions to become "unconditionally loving towards all others". As for being non-judgemental... this is a grey area. We need to make thousands of judgements every day - if someone made no judgements they would need every bit of information spoon-fed to them. It's just unrealistic. The best you can do is be open to the fact that your judgements may be false. [Edit: Typo]
  • No. Everyone has limits. Everyone will find something that will exceed their limits of right and wrong, and regardless of how accepting they are, will not be able to accept it. Most people will judge a murderer. Even the most non-judgemental will not unconditionally love and forgive a willing murderer. Many people do their best to try and be non-judgemental, but will eventually find them in a position where they will have to made a judgement, and not love someone.
  • Personally I couldn't do it. I try very hard to be non-judgemental, but I wouldn't even attempt the unconditionally loving thing. There are some people that I just don't like and never will like.
  • The Dalai Lama did it.
  • I believe it is possible, but I don't carry the gene for it.
  • It is not humanly possible to be anything but selfish. Only through the grace of God can we be truly free to love one another as we want to be loved.
  • Yes, it's possible. It just isn't something that can be maintained continuously -- at least, not by anybody I've met. Unconditional presence and love are a natural capacity for all of us: really, that's a decent way to talk about the essential nature of BEING for human beings. The trouble is twofold: most of us have no idea how to locate such a capacity within ourselves, and even those of us who do have access to this state can't do it all the time... being "only human" means being subject to a vast amount of past conditioning which wants to intrude on the perfection of just being whole in the moment. I would say that the main task in spiritual development is to expand our ability in this area, recognizing that we'll never hit 100% and accepting that.
  • Yes, but only until you leave the house and meet with rudeness, arrogance or disrespectfulness on the street which in this city anyway, doesn't take long. Then you have to start again.
