  • Oh hells to the yes... I was scared SH*TLESS when I saw and heard that flying over me... F- that!
  • It wasn't Obama who authorized it.
  • I don't know if it was his first, but I would say it was an oops to many New Yorkers.
  • First? No. It wasn't his first, but it was a screw-up. It was like authorizing a scary clown to wake your child. They had to think people would be freaked out.
  • I think it was more a case of the Mayor of New York having an "oops". Or did he even know? I find it hard to believe that authorisation for a fly over comes from the President... that's probably showing my ignorance here!
  • I doubt that he, personally, had anything to do with it. The relevant Airforce General has apologized for it. I don't imagine that Obama worries about detailed planning of the Presidential Flight. (It is not Air Force One unless the President is on board, which he wasn't).
  • That was sad!!!
  • No. I'm sure the vast Right Wing Echo Chamber will add it to their list of Obama "oops" that clearly show he is unqualified and should be impeached....:-P... http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-oe-maher24-2009apr24,0,927819.story
  • Obama didn't authorize it, but as he says, the buck stops here.
  • Obama didn't authorize it.
  • Nope. Not the first IMHO. He didn't have anything directly to do with it, but it did happen on his watch. Comparing that to the real 9/11 -- I'll take another OOPS like this one any day.
  • no, his first oops was making the same mistake clinton and W did by following reaganomics after it's expiration. the more money the wealthy get the more debt the economy gets because that is what investments are... the more money the poor get the more income the economy gets because consumer purchases are the income of the economy. with what he gave to AIG alone every single american could have 500 dollars more to help pay for their needs (6 months in gas?)... instead he gave it to a corporation with hundreds of 6-7 digit salaries. I would not even call this an oops... people need to learn to chill. unless the planes nose is lined up with you don't wory about it until after something happens. do you realise that standing on the busstop you the person next to you could shove you out into traffic... you have to keep risks in perspective. how many buildings have been taken down by aircraft in all of history? how many people die in car accidents in america every day?
  • Irrespective of other issues, the people who were responsible for this, or allowed it to happen, are either malicious or unbelievably stupid. Not good qualities for those in public office.
  • It had nothing to do with him. He is furious.
