They don't want to have to change their lifestyles. They want to continue to drive gas guzzlers and leave the lights on all the time. And eat their fruit out of season flown in from Chile...etc.

I think there's several factors: - Conservatives are predisposed against change, that's what "conserve" means, in political parlance. To have to change a lot of how we do things in response to global warming is a pretty big change. - Al Gore is widely credited (or blamed) for bringing public attention to global warming. He's a Democrat / liberal. The polarity pretty much demands that conservatives should disagree just to make sure they're on the other side of the aisle. - Conservatives tend to be pro-business, and pro "economic freedom" -- i.e. opposed to taxation, opposed to large-scale government involvement in problem solving. Global warming is one of those problems that can only be solved with large-scale government involvement, so the temptation to go after the problem and say "this really isn't a problem" is high.

Because humans are not causing global warmng. Its all a scam to tax carbon emisions. They've hijacked the enviromentalist moveemnt and if they convince everyone that man-bear-pig is real(refrence to south park) then they can get more money/power

There are a number of reasons to disbelieve the whole anthropogenic global warming hysteria. First of all, people have been trying to scare us with climate change for over a hundred years. The problem is that they can't make up their minds as to whether we are getting too hot or too cold (http://www.businessandmedia.org/specialreports/2006/fireandice/fireandice.asp). Second, there is a lot of evidence that disputes what those who want to blame us for climate change are claiming. Despite what they say, the science is far from settled and the debate is far from over. Third, all of their solutions involve government taking more control over our lives. Name one government program that has actually done what it was supposed to. LBJ's war on poverty was supposed to eliminate poverty in this country. Over 40 years and billions and billions of dollars later, there are just as many people living below the poverty line as there were in LBJ's day. Social Security taxes were supposed to be put away to help pay for the retirement of the elderly. It never was. The taxes were taken and spent on other government projects and the Supreme Court even ruled that the government has no obligation to pay back the moneys collected for this. It has turned into an intergenerational Ponzi scheme that is going bankrupt. We can keep going with the government programs for which they take our money and then don't deliver on their promises and you want to trust these people with MORE power? Sorry, but no, I don't think so.

I have seen studies that prove CO2 doesn't effect tempertures. I also haven't been indoctrinated by Al Gore the press and the UN to hate US industry.
