How children raised in families headed by same-sex parents fare in comparison with children who live in families led by opposite-sex couples?

    My real mother is a lesbian and I lived with her and her girlfriend for the first 6 years of my childhood. Then my dad took me and I've lived with my father and step mother for a long time. Yes, the values were a bit different, but I didn't think it was a big deal. I think I would fare the same if I was raised in a same-sex household. Family is family.

    Maybe if we had more families like this, there would be a lot more understanding and a hell of a lot less prejudice and ignorance.
