In practice, what is wrong/bad about safe drop-off/safe haven zones? (The ones where one has legal protection from being charged for abandoning a child, I mean.) What is right/good?

I suppose there is nothing wrong with the places themselves, because they are there for the children. On the other hand, those who would take their children there and leave them are trash. I have three little boys and I could not imagine life without them. I would work 20 hours a day if that was what it took to provide for them. There is something wrong with anyone who would not sacrifice for their own flesh and blood.

The only bad thing that comes to mind is that later on down the road the child might get a genetic illness and doctors wouldn't have the family history that makes it easier and quicker to get the child diagnosed and treated. As much as I can't imagine abandoning a child, there are those who aren't in their right mind. Abandoning their child might be the best decision they could make in regards to the child's future.
