The Professor But the dynamics of the entire series wouldn't have worked if there had been just that character. We needed the ensemble cast with all their outrageous stereotypes to give us the humor .. and the pure fun. Just look how many times "Ginger or Mary Ann" has been asked! lol Look how absurd it was to have a fabulously wealthy couple ... used to a specific lifestyle .. be amongst the castaways with nothing! And Gilligan, of course .. and a Captain .. and a McGyver wannabe, the Professor. Adds up nicely! :)

The entire ensemble was fun -- but I think I laughed the most at "Lovey Mrs. Howell." Natalie Schaefer was great.
