  • According to some astrologers, the Roman calender was screwed up supreme, so it may have been in March.
  • Xtians decided that the best way to "sell" their religion was to regionalize it. The day of the "Sun God" (Solstice) became the birthday of the son-of-god. Nice fairy tale!
  • December is just fine, although some people have asked me when we celebrate Christmas in New Zealand, simply because our seasons are different. Go figure that one! LoL
  • I think they picked December because it spaces out lent nicely they don't really know Jesus' birthday
  • If I had my way I would change it to hum.....May maybe, mainly because my birthday is in January and everyone says they are too broke to celebrate it after christmas/New Years
  • ...No, its sposed to be in like september, or august or something...pretty sure september, the only reason it is on December 25th...is cuz it was combined with a pagen holiday during the rule of constintine. He brought Christian holiday and pagen holiday togather and made one. The tree, the presents, santa...everything is pagen. Dont forget what you celebrate OR IS TRUELY celebrating when you celebrate Christmas....(if you do in december) December 25th is actually (in pagen belief) HORUS who is the SUN OF GOD's...birthday....Its a tedious matter. Do some research on it. Its all been passed on from babylon.
  • We may never know for sure. There's a 1 in 12 chance the month is correct and a 1 in 365 chance the day is correct.
  • If it's in december it the correct month.
  • Probably not, if the story about the census is true. If you were ordering people all over the country to return to their home towns, you would *not* do it in winter when the rains made the roads almost impassable. Such a census would have been held in the summer months.
  • Is Christmas Christian?
  • The time of Jesus' birth is calculated through Mary's aunt Elizabeth and her husband Zacaraha...It is known the date he left the temple having served his time there. They know approximently how long it took him to walk home. Mary arrived at their home when Elizabeth was in her 6th month Mary had just been impregnated. Jesus was born 6 months after John the Babtist. The one thing not known was Elizabeth's menstral cycle. This places the birth of Jesus at the last week of September to the first week in October by our calender. this is futher evidenced in the fact shephards would never be in the fields in December with their flocks. The sheep were brought in before the end of October. Also Pilot would not have ordered the censes to be taken during cold winter but mild weather of Sept or October. People just would not have traveled during cold times of December. So the time is last of Sept ~~~first of October. Dec. 25 was chosen to appease the pagan new year. Because the Hebrew calender is a few days off from the one we use now, this makes the new year on Dec. 25th I hope this helps you in your month quest
  • That would all depend on what you perceive Christmas to be. Personally I see it as celebrating another year with family and friends and so yes, it is at the right time for me.
