Definitely. You have more than enough time to pursue your dreams. You better work your ass off though. Meet some musicians (Try Craigslist if you don't know any) first. Meeting other is essential for inspiration and progression. And dedicate a few hours to practice everyday. You can definitely pull it off. But you've got to go all out!

No, it's not impractical. Would you still have a music career by then? Only time will tell, you could be dead by then, not that that is likely... but you could be.

Dude, I'll be 40 this year, and have been playing since 1985. It's never too late to play professionally, especially when you don't pigeon-hole yourself into a single style. My recommendation to you would be to jam with other musicians A LOT. Your own style will improve as you feed off of other seasoned players. Good luck man!

It's not impractical to attempt to be the greatest blues player in history by 30. Sure you will probably fail at that attempt, but there's nothing wrong with trying your damnedest. And besides, it could happen, you never know.

practice makes perfect so go for it.

If you already play reasonably well, being good is just beyond that, and then comes being great! One nice thing about the Blues is that many of the popular blues performers are older. I don't think you would have much of a chance at being a famous rock guitarist at age 30, but age shouldn't be a problem at all for an up-and-coming blues guitarist. As soon as possible, start getting out and playing all over the place. Form a band, work on making it a great band, and then try to perform at all the top venues in your area. Get out other nights and jam with everybody. It would probably help to jam with people better than you, they will help bring you up to their level, but it is also good to jam with lesser musicians because they might get good "overnight" and then they will remember you. It will help if you are also a good singer, or you could hook up with a great blues instrumentalist such as a keyboard or harmonica player. If you ever make it big, remember me and send me some back-stage passes to one of your San Diego shows!

I've been told that if you take a good guitarest and teach him some soul, some feel for what he's doing, you'll have a great Bluesman. Ya gotta feel where you're going with IT. You just can't fake it. Good Luck
