  • Both and neither. For some, tats have a very deep personal and/or spiritual meaning. For many more, it's something that is what "everyone else is doing" this year. Personally, I find tats on a woman trashy.
  • trendy
  • Depends... are you a Pop Star who also shaved her head at the same time???
  • I have 5 and I never thought of them as either trendy or trashy just an expression of my individuality
  • Trashy.
  • I have one. A small ladybug with a heart shaped body on my ankle. It's very small about the size of a quarter. My best friend of seventeen years has the same one on the same spot. I think that they are only trashy when people go overboard with them. I always found that I do particularly like them on women's breast or forearms but that's just my opinion.
  • Trendy. They will be as unpopular as the Edsel pretty soon.
  • I don't know... Most people my age have them (I don't), but it seems like they're all trying to hide them now. What does that say?
  • I think they can look nice, but many people overdo it.
  • I have one that I got for my 40ieth birthday because it was something that I always wanted. It is on my upper thigh just below my panty line so that it is not really visible unless I am swimming or playing netball. It is a little lizard of aboriginal design and one day when I can find another good artist I am going to have some more lizards climbing up my back. I consider it to be body art. I have seen some very beautiful and creative designs and also some really trashy boring things too. That is my opinion.
  • I didn't get mine to be trashy OR trendy. I got them because I wanted to. That's the only reason that matters to me.
  • as long as the tattoo are not microwave instructions I am cool with them
  • Timeless, if you do it right.
  • Neither, they're actually addictive
  • I think they can be trendy... If they are appropriately placed... But when they start taking over a beautiful body, then that's just trashy.. I personally would never get one, but that's just me!
  • I thought they were trashy until I started to watch Miami Ink. Now I think they can be trashy but are often not.
  • i throught they were trashy when i was younger, now i want one and don't think of them as either trashy or trendy now. just personal choice.
  • i think a small, not too drastic tatoo is quite trandy but i do not like extremly ovbious tatoos, something small and in a hidden place such a lower back is quite trendy!
  • Good tatts look great ... Male or Female ... be a rebel ...
  • Just like clothing, tattoos can be trashy or they can be sophisticated, stylish, and beautiful. Trashy tattoos are often the type people get impulsively and regret/cover-up/remove when they get older. I have several male and female friends who are heavily tattooed (full sleeves, etc) with amazing artwork and they most certainly are not trashy people. One is an engineer, one is a programmer, and the one who doesn't have a college degree is an athlete (mixed martial arts) and a business owner. I am a researcher for a major defense contractor and make six figures. I have a large chest piece and back piece and my wife is tattooed as well. Currently she a stay at home mom with our two kids and a BA in math who plans to. I was never a party person (too busy studying), I grew up in one of the wealthiest counties in the USA (Fairfield County in CT) and have never worked at a fast food joint, lived in a trailer park, been an alcoholic/drug addict, cheated on my wife, or been on welfare. I don't think I qualify for trashy.
  • Trendy, trashy and cliche. I love the girls who get butterflies tattoos because they want to rebel. How original.
  • A trendy way to waste money to try and look trashy.
  • On me, alway trendy, on anyone else, non of my business.
  • right one right place right size etc can look very goood indeed
  • For me a good tattoo is one done for other reasons then being trendy. A good tattoo (in my opinion) tells something about the one who has it. It's very personal and reflects a part of this persons life and/or character. Those tattoos are never just been done. They mark something special or important. Those tattoos I really like. Some of them are beautiful, but they can also look trashy. But at least there is something behind it, the ink had a purpose in one way or an other. Some trashy tattoo's can be very cool :) Trendy tattoos are totally not my thing. To take a tattoo just for the sake of having a tattoo is fine, but definitely not my cup of tea.
  • Depends on the tatt. I don't understand how they can be trendy though... unless there was a popular tattoo everyone was getting...
  • Its all about the freedom to express yourself the way you wish through your tattoos. At Chopper Tattoo we celebrate your picking out the design you want. Every tattoo has a story or a feeling behind it. http://www.choppertattooreviews.com/
  • I think it depends on the person and the tattoos - for example, yes, they're trendy, but I see mine as feminine and classy more than anything else.
  • Almost always trendy, and less often trashy. You can have both, but I don't think you can have neither, really. They're just that trendy. All that being said I still want a few :)
  • it all up to you...... your the one that is going to have to live with it....... i believe that a tattoo is art and it used to express how one is feeling about something...
  • Well, by definition, they are trendy, since at one time, very few females had one, but now a huge number of females do. But almost everything is trendy to some extent. May I add my very personal point of view? A female is truly a work of art already. So to me, though I would staunchly defend a person's right to get a tattoo, I would suggest that many tattoos are like an amazing exhibition of some of the most talented spray painted works of art, but painted on The Venus de Milo or on The Mona Lisa. Put a tattoo on the Mona Lisa at the top of her left breast and see what you think.
  • its an individual thing not trendy or trashy
  • Trendy. I nearly got one when I went to the beach this summer, but then I chickened out.
  • Small and discrete on women no problem. Love the bands of symbols on a well muscled arm on a man. My personal choice, I was at a christening recently and a woman there had huge tatoos on both arms (bare arms) I am far from being religious but they looked very out of place in that setting.
  • i have 3 tattoos, and only one has colour in it. I think that tattoos can either be trashy or trendy, it depends what you have done, and if it is a good artist. I happen to love tattoos and see people with them as walking art, although i have seen a few trashy ones, and it makes me sad =[
  • depends on the eye of the beholder i find them to be both at times and i have one. +5
  • trendy
  • Not for me but if they are not overdone can look nice. I am not a great fan.
  • can be both
  • I think they can be pretty cool, why?
  • A timeless expression of someone's creativity and individuality
  • So trendy they are like bra straps showing with a T shirt. But at least you can remove the bra. If you must have them make them small and as classy as possible or in a place where you can hide them.
