Yes, because he is not immortal. He's got amazing healing power, and a reinforced skeleton, but it's never indicated that he's unable to die. For example, a fire with heat hot enough to melt the adamantium fused to his bones would destroy any organic material, as well as turn the metal into a pool of liquid magma. Also, if you have seen the films and noted how Wolverine defeated Lady strike who has powers nearly identical to his own, you will realize that adamantium itself could have a potentially deadly effect on Wolverine. During the comic series, we see a couple of times he has come close. At one point, Magneto ripped the adamantium skeleton from Wolverine's body. His healing ability kept him alive, but we are shown it has its limits. It actually reached a point that it could no longer function. Wolverine was severely weakened for some time after this. There are also other things that healing cannot compensate for, such as oxygen deprivation or just old age. Wolverine was born as James Howlett in the 1800's. He ages very slowly, but he does age.
