  • I'd like to elaborate by banning that FawQue guy's IP.
  • isn't that what i just asked 1 minite ago?
  • I agree.
  • It would be helpful, except that people sometimes have access to more than one computer, thus this would not fix the problem. It is hard to know how to deal with this particular issue.
  • It can, but I don't think that will help. People can use proxy servers or they might be using a shared network. Imagine if one person on a school network trolled answerbag, nobody else would get access. I don't think blocking IP addresses is a good move, but it is possible.
  • Yes. Webmasters with access to their server have the ability to restrict access to a website by blacklisting the IP. On a Linux server it can be done easily with an .htaccess file. I am not sure of the Windows server equivalent. The problem is some people can connect via proxy or just refresh their connection to obtain a new IP.
  • Not if they are accessing the net through a public place/cyber cafe/school etc.
  • We also could just ignore those posts. They're annoying but people like that thrive on the attention.
  • I think AB has to decide ... are they building a knowledge base ala wiki or is this a social network. If they want quality input so what if a few IPs are blocked.
