  • Throughout the course of a game, a player sweats a lot. Some players, especially goalies, have even been treated for dehydration after games. It is important to let your body sweat, and those "blue shirts" are just fancy shirts that allow skin pores to breathe without trapping the sweat against the player's skin. Some people don't believe that the shirts make a difference, and some swear by them. They are very similar to the UnderArmour shirts that you see football players wearing. It should be noted that players drink lots of water during the game, and that helps to replace the water lost from sweating.
  • I play on a club team and I swear by my underarmour shirts. I tried wearing different shirts and found that these were the best. Cotton shirts just soak up the sweat and hold it in. So after the game it absolutely stinks. I thought about not wearing a shirt, but then the sweat would just go into the pads and then it would still stink. but the underarmour allows the sweat to leave the body and has great ventilation.
