  • What animal has more rights than a human. Are you cracked?
  • No I wouldn't say that for the simple fact people aren't being put down due to no homes or hunted until they no longer exist.
  • Note, Animals cannot: vote eat what they want (would you eat dog food everyday?) run around when they want take off their collars live wherever they want -- I'd say those are basic human rights animals do no have.
  • Naw. Animals can't file civil or criminal charges! ;-)
  • I feel sorry for animals. I do not think they are even close to having the same rights as humans at all. Many animals are abused and neglected, and have no way of leaving an abusive living situation. People should not have animals unless they know how to treat them.
  • No, we don't get raised in tiny pins only to be slaughtered rather cruelly so others can enjoy eating us. Billions of animals, on the other hand, experience just that.
  • No, they have very few rights. Although I do watch a series on the Animal Planet that shows police departments in some big cities answering calls that report instances of animal cruelty or neglect. Unfortunately, there just aren't enough police to handle all those cases. But I do get a little satisfaction from watching some of the culprits get dragged out of the house in handcuffs, then finding out they had to pay a hefty fine, and in some cases a short jail sentence. The animals are often taken from them to save them. Also, an animal can be killed by a person, but it's never called murder. In fact, in court, when the bailiff reads the charges before a murder trial begins, they always read that the defendant is accused of murdering "John Doe, A HUMAN", to make it clear that it is a Murder offence. I guess killing an animal isn't a murder. So, I guess that proves they don't have rights equal to humans, doesn't it?
  • I would say that animal rights is an issue that is often discussed in the news. But in Western societies, human rights are a fact. They are established in the constitutions and are generally respected (of course, there are some exceptions). So, the average human has obviously more rights that the average non human animal.
  • Animals have the same rights we do. It's just that we have the greater violence to enforce them. Some people with thier "Ethics" say just because we can kill any creature that gets in the way of our strip mall, dosen't mean we should. People are now recently just starting to consider other creatures in thier actions. I suspect in the future you'll hear more stories about how a Starbucks couldn't be built because it required the exermination of an endangered species.
