Not hardly. She was auditioning to be an ambassador for all America, which has legal same sex marriage in some states. Her comment degraded the already married same sex couples in California too.

She has a right to her opinion. She should not have lost the competition just because the judges don't agree with her point of view...

I have no interest in what she thinks about that topic and either should the judges. I don't see how that applies to her ability to be a good Miss California. Miss California is supposed to be a "good will ambassador" ... to all citizens of the state. If she cannot serve without prejudice, she should not be "crowned".

I think everyone has a right to their own opinion, so to be honest. I would say that I agree, because to me that kinda relationship is wrong. I mean for the longest I've tried to see from their point of view, but it just isn't right to me. And I'm sorry if I offend anyone by it.

No, marriage *should be between two PEOPLE that love each other and want to be committed...period. Although she could have been a little more tactful, I don't think her opinion alone should have cost her the crown. Maybe her lack of tact on the subject is what really cost her.

I don't support it. I think that bigotry and hatred are getting old. I mean, I think she has a right to believe whatever she wants, and to be as ignorant as she wants, and I support her right to free speech, however I do not support her views. And anyway, who cares what a beauty pageant contestant thinks? At the end of the day, she is just.... *drumroll* a beauty pageant contestant!! She is not any sort of authority on the matter.

Does gay people getting married really destroy the fabric of the world. Will gay people getting married be so horrible. This is why America is on downslide. Instead of focusing on bigger issues like Economical woes, Educational failures, and things that really effect we argue over race, gender, and sexual orentation like this is the 50s or we are little children. All while the government sneaks their agenda right under our fighting noses.

I disagree with her answer, though I support her right to think it-- I'm honestly more bothered that she couldn't give a reason for it better than "that's just how I was raised." That's not a reason for anything. Don't you have independent thoughts? If she said "I was raised that way, and blah blah here are my other reasons that I've looked into," I might disagree with her *more*, but I'd at least know she's able to think.

I'm sorry, but i believe that marriage should be between two people that love each other, so their sex doesn't matter. Marriage should happen between a man and a woman, a man and a man or a woman and a woman. Everyone is free to make their own choices, i'm not saying to go out and buy yourself a gun and then shoot somebody just because you felt like it, i'm just saying that gay marriage doesn't hurt anyone. Love can happen between anyone of any race and sex. I'm sorry, but this is what i belive, but i still respect your beliefs because everyone should be free to think the way they want to think as long as they don't hurt anybody.

I find it sad how anyone can use the word of god to SUPPORT (JUDGE) anyone else. "Ignorance Breeds Fear" and "Hate should Never Be A Family Value" it doesnt take a brain surgeon to know that. No, everone is different, families are different and beliefs, understanding of things and livelyhoods. And love is love, it is a good thing not a bad one. If 2 people want to get married, it is thier life. Marriage is a commitment between 2 people. Even athiests get married. it is not only done for religion... I can go on and on. I do support it. Not only because I support what she answered with, but because she answered honestly and didn't compromise her answer just so she could win. That's what a competition like that is about. Not giving an answer to please the judges and the people watching you, but giving an honest answer and being true to your morals and values.

Calling each other names doesn't answer the question. There of course are many people who believe the same way as you do about marriage. However, if you happen to be created in a way that an honest sexual relationship was impossible for you, with the opposite sex and you had a high sex drive. What would you do? Until you have to walk their walk it is difficult to say weather or not you would try to redefine what God said.
