I am trying to set up my HP printer,does anyone know what I am supposed to type in the area labeled footer so each printed page is numbered correctly *I accidentally erased it : (

if you have microsoft word or open office, you click insert find fields and you should see page number, insert footer and insert page number

I think these printer codes for header and footer are a microsoft thing, not unique to any printer. I found this table at a non-microsoft site. <acckkk> The table lost its formatting. On the menu car on top of the screen, open the headers and footers window (View --> Header and Footer). Place the cursor in the footers area. Then on the menu bar, click "Insert" --> "Page Numbers".
