Economically left wing is making everyone equal, helping the poorer and stifling the richer, where as right wing is leaving the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer. Socially left wing believes in open borders and countries working together, where as right wing believes in nationalism, independence and closed borders

They're relative terms, meaning the definitions depend on how you choose to apply them to a partiular circumstance with respect to your concience. You really ought to pick up a fewbooks at the library or book store on political science, modern world history and economics. It's way more than a two paragraph definition. The very, very, very broad definition of left is leaning toward the liberal and right toward conservative. You might find this reading experience fairly dry but it's a real an eye opener.
