  • If you join the Army or Marines, obviously you will go to war. your life will change and when you come back you will have changed drastically. what you're thinking about now probably won't be the same. If you Join the Navy or Air Force, you probably could come back to a planned out future, and what you have gained from the service will be invaluable. Problem with with the timing is that we are at war again. Now maybe you want a carreer in the military, and your future would be serving your Country, which is awesome.. But It is a serious decision that will affect and influence your life forever. It did mine. So see all of the possibilities ...
  • You gotta provide a bit more to go on. A lot of military career fields have direct civilian equivilants, but what do you like to do? Here are some obvious pairings: Military Police = police officer, corrections officer, investigator Combat Medic = EMT Administration specialist = Admin assistant/secretary/clerk truck driver = truck driver Engineer (general) = skilled trades (carpenter, electrician, plumber, construction vehicle operator) Combat engineer/SeaBee = demolitions expert, heavy civil worker, construction vehicle operator Survey specialist = survey crewman Firefigher = firefighter Vehicle mechanic = vehicle mechanic IT specialist = IT specialist Cook = cook (insitutional) Linguist = translator Finance clerk = bank clerk, bank officer
  • i also scored a 91 on the asvab, i am am MP in the army national guard and have been deployed to iraq. Honestly what you want out of the military should determine what branch you join. Although you do get job related training, very few(if any) actually directly translate into a civillian life. If you wanna know more email me at hdutko6@msn.com
  • First of all Congratulations on getting a 91 on the ASVAB not an easy task. Second consider not joining the military and consider becoming a lawyer, engineer, or a doctor. You've got brains. However, if you ensist on joining the military, I would say either the Air Force or Army. The Air Force consists of technical jobs that you can use for the rest of your life. However, the Army has military intelligence, JAG(lawyers), CID(criminal investigation division), EOD(explosive ordinance division), but dont be discouraged to join the Infantry since they have a lot of technology aswell not to mention a huge bonus.
  • When I took the ASVAB I scored an 89. It’s not the total score that determines your job it’s your GT score. If you score a 110 or higher, you can pretty much have any job in the military. If that’s the case consider becoming a 13R MOS in the Army. That is a RADAR Tech. After they finish training they are offered jobs with RAYTHEON or other defense contractors starting at 80,000 or more. When I joined I wanted to be hard core and I joined the infantry. There isn't much demand in the workforce for an ex grunt.
  • Air Force!
  • I've always favored the Navy, however I think any branch can help with your career. They all offer college benefits, on-the-job training, etc. But darn, those sailors and naval officers always look so spiffy! Best of luck no matter which branch you select.
