What's the opposite of the metric system? Is there even a name for it?

the customary system....i dont know if that would be considered the opposite of the metric system though. America is the only country that does not use the metric system.....we are still using the customary....

When the UK changed to Metric (curse them for the con it is) we changed from Imperial to Metric. :o)

There is no 'opposite' to a system of measurement dude. The 'alternative' to the metric system is the "Imperial System," which is uses feet and inches. Both systems are equally precise, but metric affords more efficient calculations as it's decimal based.
