  • I am proud to be American, and I am proud of America. However, I am not proud of our government, and I am not proud of my fellow Americans. If you're an American, you almost have no choice to be proud; you have been given a gift by accident of birth that I would only trade to be royalty elsewhere. It is a beautiful country with tremendous resources. However, our system of government is ineffective and over-bearing, both in it's foreign and domestic policies. And Americans are rude, boastful, ignorant, and often less-educated than their global peers. Being an enlightened American is a difficult internal conflict.
