  • Are you talking floor to floor or floor to ceiling? Here in Australia the average home floor to ceiling is generally 2400 although there are variations to that for say raked ceilings where only 2/3rds of the ceiling need be over 2400. For a nicer effect many people will go to a 2700 high ceiling and the old federation houses are 3000m, which are gorgeous for showing off chandeliers etc. For commercial buildings we might usually look at 3 metres floor to floor which allows for a ceiling of 2400, 2500 or 2600, and still allow ceiling space to hide ai conditioning, lighting, upper storey plumbing etc. Hope this covers it.
