When you are walking on the sidewalk and someone is walking towards you do you move off to the side or do you wait for them to move?

Depends on what mood I'm in. Amazingly most folks will watch you too. If you're looking at a watch or a cell phone, they'll avoid you.

this might sound werid nut if ive been on the block longer then them in distance i wont move but if they have covered more distance then i move i know stupid

It's quite a tough decision. If I'm in a gracious mood I'll wait for a clear of way. At times I notice that 2 OR MORE may make the single person walking the opposite way crowded out. Its quite amazing to watch watch how pple seems to be more powerful in groups. This is not new, our survival depends on having support and security. Large numbers or gangs have been rather popular to achieve what they want or demand. So if I'm out numbered I give way..too bad. But if I know I'm bullied in some way or repeatedly by the same person or persons I will find a way to stand up to them.

We both walk towards each other thinking the other person will move but they don't and then when we finally get close enough, we do that awkward two step back and fourth motion and say.... oh excuse me.... I mean excuse me.

almost all of the time i move over espcaly if they have a dog or if it is a girl or 2 people are walking side by side. wait i always move over not most of the time :)
