It is possible to catch anything and everything that anyone has through kissing them, or being kissed by them. Please don't make the mistake of thinking that only "strangers" have/carry/transmit diseases. Even if/when you know someone well, they themselves may not even know they have something, you kiss each other, and next thing you know, you're sick. Sharing bodily fluids is one of the best, quickest, and most assured ways of catching something from someone (or giving something to someone). That's ANY and ALL bodily fluids. If it's wet, it has more chance of carrying a virus, ailment, disease, etc. Also, kissing isn't the only way of sharing bodily fluids; you may have a small, barely visible paper-cut on your finger, and end up catching someone else's germ through it. A person's body fluids don't even have to come into direct contact with another person's body fluids in order to pass germs; they can be transported to you by air (a sneeze or a cough), through the skin (saliva, blood, urine, semen) or sharing body parts (kissing, oral sex, intercourse, etc).

You get sores from kissing men who have herpes.
-
You have to catch the virus as a child. It can however remain dormant for years. If you haven't had a cold sore and are an adult, you are not going to get it from kissing someone with one.
-
herpes is extremely common. The majority of people have it, however most don't manifest cold sores. But yes, it can be transmitted from kissing.
-
You can catch cold sores from a person who has the herpes virus. It is also not always manifested so you can't always tell if they have it. Cold sores can form in and around the mouth and private area's. And you can catch it from men or women, strange or not.
-
It depends. If the strange men have herpes, then yes.
-
Doesn't have to be strange men, and it doesn't have to be on the lips..
